ACQUISITIONS AND MERGERS, FOREIGN INVESTMENT,
PRIVATIZATION AND JOINT VENTURES
Since the firm's founding in the 1930s,
when Mexico embraced foreign investors, Goodrich, Riquelme has worked
closely with multinational companies doing business in Mexico. After a
period of serious restrictions in the '70s and '80s, Mexico is now well
into the age of economic liberalization, in which the majority of formerly
state-owned enterprises have now been privatized (with the process continuing)
and foreign investment and participation in domestic business is appropriately
welcomed. As always, Goodrich, Riquelme is helping its clients take advantage
of the ample opportunities in this friendly business climate.
Companies -- primarily those located outside
of Mexico -- need help from lawyers who have the specialized skills necessary
to carry out joint ventures, licensing agreements, acquisitions and mergers,
including the negotiation and structuring of both purchases and sales.
Goodrich, Riquelme's lawyers have those skills, as well as a familiarity
with the requirements of the acquiring companies.
We have experience in handling debt financing
transactions and related private, public or other equity financing.
